Description

Smart Junction Box(SJB)

1.	General function : Interior Junction Box + some functions of BCM It uses CAN communication and IPS to control loads.

Main functions:

–	Low speed CAN communication (100kbps)

–	Self diagnosis (Lamp open/short)

–	Fail safe (When MCU/CAN fail, directly operates head lamp/tail lamp)

–	Over-voltage protection of bulbs (PWM function)

–	Over-load and Short cut-off function: PCL (Programmable Current Limit)

Auto Cut System Of Dark Current

1.	Description: A system that automatically cuts off the power supplied to the load in order to reduce unnecessary consumption of dark current according to vehicle state.

SJB has 3 modes, "Normal Mode", "Sleep Mode" and "Power Off Mode". Auto cut of dark current operates in "Sleep Mode".

–	"Sleep" condition : IG OFF, constant input switch, CAN network not activating

–	"Sleep" resolutive condition : Any switch inputs, CAN network activating, KEY ON, IGN ON

–	"Power OFF" condition : When preset time expires on the timer used to cut load power

–	"Normal Mode" : SJB function normally activates.

–	"Sleep Mode" : This low power mode activates to reduce electricity consumption of SJB or IPM. Auto cut of dark current function activates.

–	"Power OFF Mode" : Power to MCU and circumferential circuit is cut off to minimize electricity consumption. Operation stops.

The explanation - The auto cut of dark current

Before delivering to customer	Fuse switch OFF
• All doors closed & RKE door locked or Constant switch state (Auto cut of dark current scenario starts.) - After 20 minutes in "sleep" state - SJB power down (SJB dark current : 200 ?A) and cutting power of Lamp/Body Load/Wake up
After delivering to customer	Fuse switch ON
• All doors closed & Constant switch state : C_BAState=OFF (Auto cut of dark current scenario starts.) - After 20 minutes in "sleep" state - SJB power down (SJB dark current : 200 ?A) and cutting power of Lamp Load • In case of locked RKE : C_BAState=ON & Trunk SW=CLOSE (Auto cut of dark current scenario starts.) - After 35s - 65s in "Sleep" state (Waiting time of other unit : 30s - 60s + SJB sleep counts 5s) - SJB Powerdown (SJB dark current : 200 ?A) and cutting power of Lamp Load

Problem when mode switch setting is wrong

: If a fuse switch is set to OFF (before delivering to customer) by a customer or technician and auto cut function of dark current is activated, the following problems may happen.

* If fuse switch is set to OFF (before delivering to customer), the power to BCM, Digital clock and audio is shut off.
